Why we're embracing Quiet Mornings

Communal baths are regenerative spaces. They are unique in the way that they foster togetherness with both friends, and strangers. But they are also places of deep rest, privacy and self contemplation. So, for those who want to be in solitude, it is important to have somewhere for them to lean into the quietness.

With this in mind, we are introducing select times to bathe, for those who want Quiet Mornings. Quiet Mornings means Sense Of Self is a silent space on weekday mornings.

Although the sonic waves of Sense Of Self bring their own joys, an intentional quietness is an opportunity to mute the common life noise, and the mind (sometimes the loudest of them all!). When we are not distracted by life's noise or goal-orientated tasks, we are free to work through the complexities of our consciousness, discover our place in our internal and external worlds, and create space for expansion.

Water too, can invite us to listen. To be still and to feel a sense of weightlessness when being held by it. A powerful experience for our bodies. As the water flows around us, we pass through it. The term ‘Deep Listening’ comes to mind, a concept which often oscillates around the language of wellness, but what does this actually look like? The answer, as we know, is not universal, rather it is personalised. Through such practices as contemplation, social detachment or just showing up to a space with intention, your own version of deep listening is being formed. And we welcome you to build on it during Quiet Mornings at Sense Of Self, if you’d like.

Quiet Mornings in the bathhouse are every weekday from 7 am to 12pm, click here to make a booking.
